Residential Lawn Care
A Healthy Lawn Starts Below the Surface
PMT Lawn & Landscape builds residential lawn treatment programs, the kind of full lawn care program built around what your soil and your turf actually need, serving Indianapolis and the surrounding areas. Call (317) 910-1257 and we will look at the lawn before recommending anything, or request an estimate.
A green, weed-free lawn does not happen on its own here. Central Indiana yards deal with heavy clay, compaction from construction, and cool-season turf that needs the right inputs at the right time to stay dense through spring growth, summer heat, and fall recovery. Over-the-counter products from a big box store rarely deliver what homeowners are hoping for, because they are sold on a national schedule instead of a Johnson County one. Applying a pre-emergent two weeks late, or fertilizing in the wrong week of July, does more harm than skipping it.
Our programs are proactive rather than reactive. We evaluate soil, grass type, sun exposure, and seasonal conditions, then apply fertilizer, weed control, and other treatments when they will do the most good. That strengthens root systems, improves turf density, and heads off the problems that are expensive to fix once they take hold. A thicker lawn crowds out weeds on its own, which means fewer corrective applications every year you stay on program.
What Is Included
What a Full Lawn Treatment Program Covers
Each visit is a step in a season-long plan, not a standalone spray. We document what was applied and what we saw on the property, so the next visit builds on the last one and you are never guessing what your lawn has already had.
Grub and insect control is part of the program rather than an afterthought. White grubs feed on turf roots through late summer, and the damage usually shows up as irregular brown patches that pull up like loose carpet, often with skunk or bird digging on top of it. A preventive grub control application in early summer is far cheaper than reseeding the areas they take out, and surface insects like chinch bugs and sod webworm get treated the same way, on evidence rather than on schedule.
Lawn disease is the other thing we watch for. Brown patch, dollar spot, and red thread all show up in Central Indiana lawns during humid stretches, and each one has a different answer. Some are cultural problems solved by mowing height and watering timing, others need a targeted fungicide. We identify the disease before treating it, since the wrong product on the wrong disease is just money on the ground.
Compaction is the other half of the equation. Fertilizer cannot fix a lawn that water and air cannot get into, which is why we pair treatments with fall aeration and overseeding to relieve compaction and thicken thin areas heading into winter. Fall applications also need to reach the soil, which is why leaf removal service runs ahead of the late-season feedings on properties with mature trees.
- Pre-emergent weed control timed to spring soil temperatures
- Post-emergent broadleaf weed control for anything that breaks through
- Fertilization applications that feed without burning the turf
- Grub and surface insect control to protect root systems
- Lawn disease identification and targeted treatment
- Lime applications to correct pH in Indiana's clay-heavy soils

Questions & Answers
Lawn Treatment FAQs
Most Central Indiana lawns do best on five to seven visits spread across the season, starting with a spring pre-emergent and ending with a late-fall feeding. The exact number depends on turf type, weed pressure, and whether we are correcting a neglected lawn or maintaining a healthy one.
Weed control shows visible effects within one to two weeks. Density and color changes take a full season, because you are rebuilding root mass rather than painting the surface. Lawns that were badly thinned usually need a fall aeration and overseeding before they fill in completely.
Yes, with normal precautions. We ask that you stay off treated areas until the application has dried or been watered in depending on the product, and we leave notice of what was applied after every visit.
Not always, but it helps when a lawn has been struggling for years. Indiana clay often runs acidic, and no amount of fertilizer performs well at the wrong pH. Lime applications are part of the program when a test calls for them.
We run a separate program for larger sites. See commercial lawn treatments for turf density programs, soil pH correction, and scheduling built around tenant and public access.
Both. Many clients bundle treatments with weekly mowing and lawn maintenance so one crew is accountable for how the lawn looks.
